How to Make Money Marketing CPA (Cost Per Action) Offers

Today I would like to talk about how you can make money marketing CPA offers. I have recently ventured into CPA marketing and I have to say that I really like it. Before I go into that, let me briefly explain what CPA marketing is all about.

Quick Overview

CPA stands for cost per action. Basically, you get paid per action. This action could be a free trial sign up, form submission, email submit, download, and so on. On average, you can expect to make ($1-$40+ per successful action).

As far as the marketing part goes, what you will be doing is marketing CPA offers. You do this through CPA networks and there are quite a few of them. Once you are in a good network and you have a good idea of how it works, you can look through their offers and choose offers to promote.

The CPA network provides mostly everything you need to promote the offers. All you have to do is abide by their rules and promote the offers using the materials that are supplied to you (banners, links, etc). Any successful actions that occur as a result of your promotions will earn you some money.

How to Get Started

If you want to venture into CPA marketing, I’d recommend that you get prepared.

You don’t want to go into it as a complete newbie because CPA networks want people that have some experience or at least know what is involved and what they need to do to promote these offers and make money.

So, here is what I recommend that you do to get prepared.

* Create a decent website with some content and some traffic. If you already have one, that’s even better. (Optional but recommended) You can check out this post for website creation options – Top Free & Paid Options To Create a Website

* Get familiar with CPA terminology.

* Have an idea of which types of offers you want to promote and how you will promote them.

Once you have done these, you should be ready to take the leap into CPA marketing. With that being said, I will give you a basic guide on how to make money marketing CPA offers.

Step 1: Apply to CPA Networks

Before you can promote any offers, you need to get into a CPA network. The CPA network acts as the middle man connecting the advertisers offers with publishers (You). So, if you want offers to promote from the advertisers, you will find them through affiliate networks.

There are many different CPA networks out there. My personal favorite right now is Max Bounty. They have lots of great offers and the affiliate managers are really helpful. They also pay on time every month which I love.

For a full list of CPA networks that you can apply to, check out AffiliatePaying. This website lists different CPA networks and includes details about the networks such as when they pay, how they pay, when they were established, and so on. You will also find reviews from other members that are a part of that specific network.

Make sure that you have a website of some sort when applying to these networks. They will ask for information about your website on the application so you need to be sure to include one.

Many networks will not approve you if you don’t have a website. There are exceptions however and that is if you will be using PPC or some other method to drive traffic to the offers.

You would need to contact the network after you submit your application and tell them how you will be promoting the offers and some will approve you even without a website.

Once you submit an application to the networks you are interested in joining, you would want to try to get into contact with the network by email or phone to speed up the process. You want to take the initiative and show them you are really wanting to get into their network and make some money.

Hopefully, you will have successfully got accepted into a few legitimate CPA networks.

Step 2: Talk With Your Affiliate Manager

Once you are in a few networks, you need to try and establish a relationship with your affiliate managers. Your affiliate managers are there to help you be successful.

If you have any questions or concerns, they are the person to contact. They can help you with your campaigns, tell you which offers are good converters, and much more.

Step 3: Select Some Offers to Promote

If you have a website, you can try to find some offers that are relevant to your website to promote. There are many different categories of CPA offers, so there is a good chance that you may find a relevant offer to promote.

If you don’t find an offer that fits your website, you can check other CPA networks. That’s one good reason to join several networks. Some networks have different offers.

If you don’t have a website or know which offers to promote, you can talk to your affiliate manager and find out which offers are performing well. You could then choose one of those offers and start a campaign around that offer.

* I really don’t recommend building a campaign around a specific offer because offers do get taken down or cancelled. When that happens – depending on the method of promotion – you could be in a pickle.

So, for example, if you choose to promote a free game download offer, you would want to create a website or campaign around free game downloads instead of the specific name of the game.

This way if that offer gets cancelled by the advertiser, you could still promote other free game download offers without having to redo your whole campaign. This is just an example and probably not a good one but I hope you get the point.

Step 4: Start Your Campaign

Once you have chosen an offer or offers to promote, you can use the creatives or types of promotion allowed for that specific offer and start marketing the offer.

Once again, you should use the affiliate marketing knowledge you have to come up with a good way to market the offers. Your affiliate manager can assist you with this part as well but don’t expect them to do it all for you and lead you by the hand.

Once you have set up your campaign and started driving traffic to the offer(s) you are promoting, you should start to make some money.

Of course, the amount of money you make depends on how much you make per lead, how targeted your traffic is, how much traffic you get, and so on. You should really figure out a good plan to drive lots of targeted traffic to your offers.
